API 5L X80 pipes have seamless, welded or ERW processes to for the pipes. These are carbon steel pipes with high yield and tensile strength. The minimum yield strength is at 80000PSI. API 5L X80 PSL2 and the API 5L X80 PSL1 are used in the same industries with slightly different mechanical properties. The nominal bore size of the pipes range from ½ inches to 48 inches. The wall thickness differs with schedules 10 through XXS. The pipes are available in single random, double random and in required lengths. The API 5L Grade X80 can come in annealed, heat treated, bent, 3LPE coated, sand blasted and drawn or expanded according to customer requirements. The applications of API 5L X80 Grade B include petrochemical applications, oil refineries, nuclear and thermal power generation plants, boiler parts and pressure vessels. There are specific testing available to assure the qualities of the pipes. The HIC Tested X80 is tested against hydrogen embrittlement and it could be used without getting embrittled. The ISO 3183 L555 Grade X80 is a standard that also specifies the qualities of the pipe. The pipes have a high tensile strength at 95000MPa as well. However, the PSL2 has higher minimum yield strength of up to 92000PSI and tensile strength of up to 125000PSI.
